MANILA (UPDATE) — Residents in several areas of Isabela and Ilocos Norte were evacuated Sunday as authorities prepared for the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.
In Isabela, the cities of Ilagan and Santiago have been experiencing continuous rain and gusty winds since before noon.
In Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, 30 families or 108 individuals were evacuated from barangays Caparisoisan, Pancian and Saud due to the threat of storm surge in these coastal areas.
More residents are expected to be evacuated, said provincial disaster risk reducation and management officer Marcelle Tabije.
